The Impact on Economic Growth in Different Age Groups in the Provinces of Iran

Today, the population variable and its related specifications is basic infrastructure in the areas of economic and social planning and policy making. The population, including important component of economic and social in a society that has on economic performance and social community is effective and at the same time economic and social policies are also affected, so that changes in population structure as one of the key factors in the process of development is known. Therefore, in this study, the effects of population age structure on economic growth in the provinces of Iran during the period 1379 to 1392 are examined. In this regard, using econometric techniques based on panel data models and using generalized moments (GMM), the impact of different groups of population on economic growth in Iran, according to provincial data, is studied. The results showed hypothesis lifecycle economic and windows theory population, so that population growth in the groups of the population is under 15 years of age and over 65 years old have a significant and negative effects and the population 15 to 64 years old have a positive effect on economic growth in the provinces. |
