Abstract:   (2412 Views)

Population censuses are the most comprehensive source of information on populations and households that provide data for the size, structure and characteristics of populations. Censuses always are associated with heavy pressures of financial, human force and resulting data include lots of nonsampling errors. Analysis of census data and quickly disseminate its results are other problems that governments are faced with. Nowadays, the implementation of the censuses are inevitable in many countries, therefore these countries are constantly looking for ways to reduce these problems that can provide better coverage of populations. Kish in 1981 introduced a new method called rolling census. In this paper, firstly rolling census is introduced. Then, this method will be compared with traditional census that is conducting in many countries including Iran. Results of this comparison show that the rolling census is now impossible to conduct in Iran, but it is expected to be applicable in near future as the system of administrative data developed in Iran.
