| Unemployment has become a prominent issue and a significant component of underdevelopment in many countries. Understanding the employment situation and comprehending its strengths and weaknesses in employment and development planning have a profound impact. This study aims to determine the development rank of Iranian provinces in terms of employment generation by utilizing indicators derived from the implementation of the Labor Force Survey conducted by the Statistical Center of Iran during the four-year period from 2019 to 2022. Based on this, the provinces of Iran have been divided into five clusters using the hierarchical cluster analysis model. The results of the cluster analysis revealed that 51.6% of the country's provinces were classified as highly developed or developed clusters, approximately 19.4% were categorized as relatively developed, and 38.7% were classified as deprived or highly deprived clusters. Finally, the spatial analysis of employment generation using ArcGIS software indicated that the northern, northwestern, northeastern, and central regions of the country, except for provinces such as Golestan, Qom, and Markazi, had a more favorable development status, while the southern, southwestern, and southeastern regions of the country had a less desirable situation. |
