| Providing stable income is one of the basic components in rural development. Increasing the utilizing of life facilities and improving the welfare situation is realized in the light of earning money. This article tries to analyze the expenditure-income combination of rural households in Iran. The statistical data over the period 1974-2022 were obtained from the Statistical Center of Iran and Central Bank of Iran. During this period, six economic, social and cultural development plans have been implemented, and the country's rural population has decreased, but the incomes and expenditure of the villagers have been fluctuating and changing. The average growth rate of total expenditure of a rural household in this period was 19.8%, while the income growth rate was 21.4% on average. Besides, the annual growth rate of food and non-food expenditure has been calculated as 19.2 and 20.5 percent, respectively. On the other hand, the marginal propensity to consume of rural households is estimated at 0.8. |
