| Along with the rapid growth of the Internet in the present era, the perspective of the digitalization process has expanded and transformed the way businesses work and interact with consumers. Due to the breadth and variety of innovations and inventions, the country's economy has become dependent on digital tools and the Internet in various ways. The speed of these changes is in a way that could not be predicted even in the last few years. New digital tools have caused fundamental changes in the way of working, communicating, buying and selling goods and services, and performing daily tasks. Therefore, measuring the effects of digitalization has become necessary to understand the economy as a whole due to the increasing dependence of businesses and consumers on digital products and services. Here, the concepts of digital economy, enablers and challenges of measuring this important economic sector have been discussed. As the final conclusion of the article, measuring the digital economy based on ICT enablers should only be used if the internal digitalization of products and processes cannot be measured directly. According to the review of available information, no official statistical scheme data is available to measure the digitization of processes in the economy. However, the process dimension is very important, as it affects all economic sectors. In order to get a clear picture of digitization as described here, the lack of data should be addressed using an official statistical scheme. |
