Statistical Analysis of Production, Consumption, Exports and Imports of Iron Ore in Iran and the World

Iron ore is one of the most valuable metallic minerals and applicable in different industries especially in steel production as well as having an important role in the industrial development of many countries. In present study based on the universal statistics, the status of iron ore in Iran and its position in the Middle East, Asia and the world was studied. Afterward the whole production, consumption, imports and exports of Iran, the world's top ten countries and various regions around the world were analyzed during the period 2000-2013, in order to evaluation, comparison and determination of its global situation.
A deeper looking at statistics for 2013 shows that Iran having respectively, 2.5 and 1.1 billion tons of proven reserve and iron content, ranked eleventh, with 16 million tons of iron ore production ranked tenth as well as with 37.5 million tons consumption ranked eleventh in the world production and consumption respectively. Iran with 5.22 million tons of exports also ranked eighth in the world, while it's imports is zero. Statistical analysis shows that Iran has a very good position in the Middle East during the period 2000-2013, despite the existence of a significant difference between Iran and famous industrial countries. |
