Time Use Patterns of Iranian Parents

The collection of time use data is one of the topics that have been more attention by planners and researchers of socio-economic studies in many countries in recent years. Investigation of time use patterns of individuals in different social groups, provides information for planning on the socio-economic issues of the country. Various applications of time use data are available in different aspects such as lifestyle assessment of individuals and different groups such as youth and elderly people, assessment of life quality, urban planning, participation in labour market, and so on. While parents spent their time in different ways and some factors such as economic activity, the age of their youngest child and their employment status were related to the amount of time they spent in selected activities, in this paper, based on the latest information of this survey, summer 2015, time use patterns of employed and not employed parents based on the age of their youngest children and the employment status of each couple are investigated. Also, some effective factors such as education, gender, marital status, literacy and age of employed parents have been investigated on the amount of time they spent in selected activities. |
